Where Reflections Bring Healing, Grace and Renewal

the truth at the surface: and the layers we’re dying to breathe

Sometimes we hear a truth that rings— you know the kind.

It doesn’t shout.

It doesn’t try to convince.

It just lands, smooth and deep, like a stone skipping across a still lake…

and we feel it ripple.

But then something inside of us leans forward, tilts its head, and says:

“There’s more here. Dig.”

THE DIGGING BEGINS

To be honest…it’s easy to stop at the surface truths, and in today’s fast-paced world — many of us do.

We read truths that catch our eye and look good across social media. The ones that get “likes” and nods.

But what about the truths hiding under the grief?

Under the silence?

Under shame we didn’t earn but still wear like skin?

There are layers.

Layers that ache to breathe.

There are people — precious souls — who don’t even know they’re starving for that breath.

Not broken. Just bound.

Not lost. Just unled.

This is why I keep showing up. Not because I hold all the answers, or because I claim to know the map of someone else’s journey.

It’s because I’ve already walked through my own shadows, and I remember the weight of unseen chains.

I’m not here to define your truth. I’m simply holding up a light. A quiet — steady — light. So you can see what’s been waiting in your own reflection all along.

My hope is to bring these buried truths into the light — not to fix or preach, but to walk beside you while your spirit rises, stretches, and finally begins to breathe.

There’s a reason this calling keeps pressing on my spirit.

Because sometimes, truth can’t rise to its full gleam of healing illumination… until weight is released.

It’s like a balloon — created to lift, to float, to soar toward light. But tie a stone to its string, and it won’t matter how much helium fills it. The weight keeps it tethered – grounded – and still.

So many of us are like that – filled with potential, insight, and purpose, but pulled down by old ties:

  • Wounds that went unspoken.
  • Relationships we outgrew.
  • Guilt that was never ours to carry,.
  • Mistakes that we’ve already outgrown but still cradle in our minds.
  • Misguided assumptions about our worth — made in moments of exhaustion or fear.
  • Old wounds we keep rehearsing because we thought healing meant never forgetting.

Maybe that’s why this quote resonated so deeply with me todaY:

“Elevation will require seperation. You can’t go UP to the next level holding onto people who bring you down where you’re at. It’s okay to outgrow people, organizations. It’s okay to walk away from what holds you back. It’s okay to do what’s best for your growth and development. You won’t get better if you’re constantly bitter. Make the choice to choose ‘you’ today.”
— Cody Bowen

I read this earlier today across one of my social apps, and it triggered something within. This message was empowering on it’s own …and yet…my spirit dug deeper through its layers — like powedered sugar dusted over warm biscuits:
sweet on the surface, but only fully satisfying when you taste what’s hidden inside.

Because sometimes, what looks like inspiration is actually an invitation — to peel back another layer. An opportunity to acknowledge what’s been quietly hindering our rise, and to finally make the choice to cut…and let it go.

That’s not selfishness.
That’s sacred stewardship.
It’s knowing that the version of you aching to rise cannot keep apologizing for growing wings.

What are you still tethered to, beautiful soul?
perhaps in shame…
perhaps in guilt…
perhaps in emotional discomfort or buried trauma…
perhaps in compassion — even simply, for someone else…

It’s time to release it.
Let your spirit envision it…rest upon it.
Take a deep breath — and allow it to encapsulate the full weight of it.
Now, slowly…forcefully — let it rise to the surface and out, my friend.
Let it release…untethered…liberating your growth.

Now…you are rising my spirit warrior.

Not everything that once walked with us was meant to climb with us.

"Cast off the old self...and be renewed in the spirit of your mind." — Ephesians 4:22:23

May this be the breath where something shifts. May you recognize the weight, honor what it taught you, and release it with grace.

Because you were never meant to carry it forever.

You were meant to rise…

So, Rise…and let your truth breathe free, my friend!

Maybe this is where your rise begins —

Not is striving, but in surrender.

Not in holding tighter, but in letting go.

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." —John 8:32

May you rest in gentle courage, and rise in the kind of freedom that comes when truth is no longer buried — but lifted, lived, and finally allowed to breathe.

May your soul feel lighter. May your breath feel freer. May your truth illuminate and heal – yourself, as well as those around you…

Until next time – keep digging. Keep breathing. Keep allowing your light to break through.

Love, Light, and Grace,

    HEY FRIENDS!
I have noted that more often than not – once shared across the Reader platform – my blog post is oddly filled with random mistyping, formatting, or punctuation errors. Whereas, the original post is clean and error free.
I’d like to preserve the clarity if anyone has guidance how? You all are always so helpful in what I am newly navigating blindly through – Thank You in advance!
