There’s a little girl in our world whose strength humbles me daily. Her name is Ezra Vivianna. She is five years old, diagnosed with ONH and lives with blindness, autism, and is battling a life-threatening, complex seizure disorder.

Ezra doesn’t run to the world the way other children do – she listens to it. She feels it. She navigates it in silence, interpreting light through touch, emotion, through sound, and safety through the presence of those she trusts.

Over the last couple of years, life threatening seizures have made their way into Ezra’s world- stacked atop the already staggering hurdles she carries like a five year old trooper.

Silent and sudden, they threaten to take away what little autonomy she has fought to build. Because she is blind, has complex communication needs, and as many face with sudden onset seizures, there is no reliable way for her to signal for help – or for us to see a seizure coming. That is why we are raising funds for a seizure-alert service dog.

These specially trained dogs can detect changes in breathing, scent, and muscle response before a seizure begins. They alert caregivers, provide physical grounding during an episode, offer emotional regulation for Autism, and help navigate everyday life as a blind child. This is not just an animal companion. This is a lifeline. A trained medical responder with paws.

The total cost to bring this lifeline into Ezra’s life is $30,000.00. This includes the dog, two years of intensive training, travel expenses, transitional care, supplies, and safety necessities -such as vehicle safety equipment for dog, and a fenced area in yard to ensure secure outdoor time for them both. It also accounts for the fees taken by the fundraising platform so nothing is lost in translation.
