Scribed In Light

There’s a strange, almost surreal feeling that comes when you find yourself standing in the middle of something you once thought impossible. It’s the feeling of chaotic awe—where everything is shifting, growing, unfolding in ways you never saw coming, and yet, somehow, it all feels divinely orchestrated.

I’m living in that space right now.

Five years ago, my family placed placards above doorways just to help me remember which room was which. Today, I’ve submitted a book to a major publishing house. If you had told me then that I’d be here now, writing these words, shaping stories, and building something that will outlive me—I wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am.

And yet, even in this incredible season, I still find myself hip-deep in uncertainty, in the unknown, in the tension of waiting. Will my book be accepted? Will my vision for accessibility in literature take root? Will this path I’m walking lead to where my heart so desperately wants to go?

The truth is, I don’t have all the answers.

But what I do have is trust.

Not the kind of trust that comes easily, but the kind that’s been forged in fire, tested in waiting, and refined in surrender. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this— God moves in ways we don’t always understand, and the process is rarely clear while we’re standing in the midst of it.

Maybe you’re in a similar place right now—where things feel too big, too uncertain, too chaotic to grasp. Maybe you’re standing in the middle of a season where you can see something happening, but you don’t yet know what it will become.

If that’s you, by all means, let me remind you: keep trusting. Take a deep breath, keep looking forward, and step in faith in the process.

Even if the waters feel deep.

Even if the answers aren’t clear.

Even if you feel hip—deep in chaotic awe, wondering how it’s all going to work out.

Because one day, you’ll look back—just like I am today—and you’ll see it. The purpose in the process. The beauty in the waiting. The grace woven through every single uncertain step.

And that moment? That’s when you’ll realize that you were never lost. You were just becoming.

Trust the process. Even in the chaos. Even in the awe.

As I reflect on today’s message I’m reminded that trusting the process isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about believing that grace is already in the motion, even when we can’t yet see the outcome. Standing in the midst of the chaos and awe as it ensues around you is never easy. It is in these moments that we grow, surrender, and truly see the hand of God at work.
